Listen
Today the Moon sits in Capricorn, an earth sign ruled by Saturn. More specifically he sits in a star constellation or nakshatra called Sravana, which is known as the listening star. Its symbol is the ear and also the flute. Savanna is ruled by Moon and the deity Vishnu and his embodiment as Vamana.
The constellation is composed of three stars that look like an eagle, the bird of Vishnu. The number three is of creation and the three sounds A-U-M, the sound vibration that embodies all of the manifest and un-manifested world.
Vamana, an embodiment of Vishnu as a dwarf, conquered a demon through perception of his enemy’s weakness in just three steps.
This Nakshatra is also ruled by Saraswati, the Goddess of sound, mantra, music, learning, language, record keeping and genealogy. The Moon here brings us the power to know the truth without knowing, the system of education rooted in call and response and is connected to Vedic knowledge. This is the power to tune into a higher source, to channel divine messages and download the music of the ethers.
Never underestimate the power of Savanna, who seems meek and mild (a dwarf) but has the power to out maneuver, and persevere.
Remember the Moon is our deep psyche and emotions and represents Mother. He is in the 7th house of partnership from the Ascendant and Jupiter, the Guru. Jupiter is in the deeply psychic nakshatra, Aslesha, the coiled snake. Together these energies support us in navigating unfamiliar territory. This is a powerful position for the Moon as we enter the Lunar eclipse with Ketu, Mercury and the Sun (the self and the heart) in Leo ruled by the Sun. The core of the self and the ability to communicate are both being eclipsed by the south node of the Moon, Ketu, who takes away all that is no longer needed in the soul’s journey.
On either side we have Jupiter, the benevolent and wise and Venus, the bringer of heaven to earth supporting us through this portal. Jupiter in the energy of Cancer and Moon, himself is accessing the deep intuition of Alesha, while Venus is in the Nakshatra Chitra, the glittering Diamond who is the Divine architect, manifesting a Divine vision on Earth.
These energies indicate to stay the course, practice deep silence and inner listening and the energy of Vishnu (he who preserves) will guide us through. Don’t be distracted.
