Venus Rising

I offer this as a spiritual interpretation rather than an objective forecast. What immediately stands out to me when I gaze at the planetary placements today is a but a profound movement from constriction toward conscious participation.

The Great Breath After the Constriction of the Kala Sarpa (serpent of time)

The image that arises is of someone who has held their breath for a very long time.

For many months the Kala Sarpa (serpent of time in which all planets are “trapped” between the north and south nodes of the moon) has symbolized humanity's perception of living inside a narrow karmic corridor. Whether one believes this literally or archetypally, the symbolism is striking: attention has been drawn repeatedly toward fear, polarization, survival, and ancient unfinished karma.

Now, as Venus moved in Virgo ruled by Mercury and out of the karmic configuration, He steps beyond that enclosure.

Venus does not end humanity's karma.

He reminds us that karma is not the only force operating.

Grace also prevails.

The fact that Venus emerges from the Kala Sarpa first feels deeply meaningful. Were Mars to break free first, the world might respond through conflict. Were Saturn first, through duty. Instead it is Shukra—the teacher of the Asuras, the keeper of beauty, devotion, relationship, healing herbs, sacred arts, fertility, generosity, and refinement.

It is almost as though Life whispers:

"Before you solve the world's problems...

Remember what is true, eternal, beautiful and nourishing.

Venus is in the Nakshatra Uttara Phalguni ruled by Sun and representing radiant life affirming energy:

Love Becomes Service

Venus enters Virgo, where classical texts regard her as debilitated.

Yet debilitation often asks:

"What is beauty when stripped of glamour?"

In the nakshatra, Uttara Phalguni, ruled by Surya, love matures from romance into stewardship.

This nakshatra is associated with sustaining what has already been born.

Not beginning.

Maintaining.

Feeding.

Protecting.

Honoring vows.

In today’s second house, this asks humanity:

What truly nourishes us?

Not consumption.

Not accumulation.

But nourishment.

The second house is food, speech, values, family inheritance, wealth, and self-worth.

Humanity is being invited to rediscover abundance through reverence, humility, alignment and gratitude rather than possession and achievement.

The medicine becomes remarkably practical.

Feed someone.

Plant a tree.

Speak blessing instead of criticism.

Repair something rather than replace it.

Honor your ancestors by becoming the healing they could not complete.

Moon and Saturn in Revati in the 7th house of partnerships and the natural 12th house of Pisces, ruled by the Guru, Jupiter.

The Compassion of Completion. Moon opposite Venus creates an axis between inner feeling and outer relationship.

Moon joined Saturn in Revati carries extraordinary symbolism.

Revati is the final lunar mansion.

Everything ends here.

But endings in Revati are never merely death.

They are safe passage.

Revati's deity, Pushan, is the divine shepherd.

He guides travelers.

Protects the lost.

Finds what has wandered away.

Feeds the vulnerable.

Saturn here asks:

Can compassion become disciplined?

Can tenderness become consistent?

Can humanity love even when it is tired?

Moon often wishes to rescue.

Saturn asks us to remain present.

Real compassion is not emotional intensity.

It is faithful presence.

Mercury is in Gemini the 11th house, ruled by Mercury in the Nakshatra Punarvasu:

The Return of Light

Perhaps this is my favorite placement today.

Mercury governs thought.

Language.

Learning.

Communication.

Punarvasu means "becoming light again.” Not new light. Returned light.

This is the archetype after the storm.

After confusion.

After exile.

After division.

Truth does not arrive shouting.

It quietly remembers itself.

Collectively this suggests that many people who have lived in confusion begin asking different questions.

Not "Who should I blame?"

But. "What is actually true?"

Mercury here favors teachers.

Writers.

Listeners.

Children asking innocent questions.

Conversations held without needing to win.

Jupiter, the Guru Exalted in cancer ruled by Moon in the nakshatra Pushya

Pushya has long been called one of the most nourishing nakshatras.

Milk flows.

Wisdom feeds.

The Divine Mother sustains life.

Jupiter exalted here in the twelfth house suggests that the deepest expansion may come through surrender rather than acquisition.

The twelfth house of deep spirituality, the past, the unconscious, loss or moksha, is often misunderstood.

This is where the ego discovers it is not the center of reality.

Jupiter here whispers:

The greatest wealth cannot be owned.

Only embodied.

Jupiter–Rahu Dasha: Today’s Dasha is Jupiter/Rahu

This indicates, Wisdom Meets Appetite

The Jupiter/Rahu period is fascinating.

Jupiter expands truth.

Rahu expands desire.

Together they create tension between discernment and fascination.

Their 6/8 relationship symbolizes friction.

Not punishment.

Evolution.

Collectively we may witness enormous amounts of information competing for humanity's attention.

Some illuminating. Some deceptive.

Discernment becomes a sacred practice.

Not cynicism. Not blind belief.

Discernment. This Aligns with Mercury in Punarvasu and as the ruler of Virgo where Venus broke the karmic axis.

TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE. HOW DO YOU PERCEIVE IT?

Discernment, the energy of Venus in Virgo

Mars is in the 10th house of career culmination, in Taurus, ruled by Venus and in the nakshatra, Mrigashira, ruled. by Mars.

Mrigashira is symbolized by the head of a deer. The deer seeks Soma, divine nourishment

Mrigashira is always searching.

The deer does not conquer the forest.

It explores it.

Mars here transforms ambition into inquiry.

The question becomes:

What are we actually pursuing?

Technology?

Power?

Security?

Recognition?

Or wisdom?

Mars asks humanity to move.

Mrigashira asks us to move gently.

Ketu Rising in Leo/Magha

Magha reminds us that every throne belongs ultimately to the ancestors.

Ketu (the south node of the moon and most spiritual of planets) dissolves identity.

Placed with the Ascendant, the invitation is profound.

Leadership is becoming less about personality.

More about stewardship.

The true sovereign kneels before Truth.

Magha remembers that dignity comes from service to something greater than oneself.

Approaching Eclipse Season

As the eclipses approach the karmic axis on August 12th , humanity enters another period where unconscious material may become visible.

Eclipses often reveal what ordinary daylight conceals.

Rather than fearing them, they can be approached as invitations to awareness.

What is hidden seeks integration.

What is denied seeks acknowledgment.

The question is not:

"What catastrophe will happen?” But: "What truth is ready to emerge?”

Feed what gives life.

Repair what has been broken.

Speak words that increase courage.

Become trustworthy in small things.

Let wisdom mature into kindness.

Let beauty become service.

Let knowledge become humility.

Let power become stewardship.

Light is not arriving from somewhere else.

It is remembering itself through us.

A Mantra for This Week

Given the prominence of Pushya, Punarvasu, Revati, and the gentle emergence of Venus, the Gayatri Mantra feels especially resonant—not as a petition, but as an invocation of awakened intelligence:

Om Bhūr Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ

Tat Savitur Vareṇyaṁ

Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi

Dhiyo Yo Naḥ Prachodayāt

("May we meditate upon the radiant Light of the Divine Source. May that Light illumine our understanding.”)
